Hello Again & a very Special Trunk Show

Well hello there friends. It's been awhile since I've posted anything to the blog. After the store closed, I wiped the slate clean, of many things, and waited til the dust settled to start again. I think it is now that time.

I've missed many of you since the store closed it's doors for the last time- the clients, the artists, the daily hustle and bustle. It was GREAT to see so many happy and positive faces this summer at Art in the Park. You all infused me with new energy and inspiration. Thank you!

So what's new in the world of this cat? First off, if you didn't know- I'm still making jewelry like crazy! Bad Cat Creations began it's life as my at home jewelry business, and now it has returned to it's roots. As much as I miss the store, I do enjoy getting to focus on the thing that makes me the happiest- creating jewelry!

Not long after the shop closed, I approached long time friends, the Kelsey's about putting my designs in their shop. Since early Feb 2012, you can find my designs on display at their store, Kelsey's Jewelry in downtown Bemidji. Not too long after that they called me up and offered me a job working in the studio at the store! Of course I took it and I've been there since the end of April 2012. I love my job and I'm learning so much more about being a metal smith, stone setting and more. I've gotten to work with a few of their clients in creating some one-of-a-kind custom pieces and I can't wait to do more! So if you stop in and don't see me, just ask for Christina- I'm usually in the back working away!

Speaking of Kelsey's- they've asked me to do a trunk show this month! I'm really excited to show off some of the new things I've been working on in my home studio. I'd love it if you stopped by- this show means a lot to me!

Kelsey's Jewelry and Bad Cat Creations Original Jewelry Designs by Christina Thorne, invites you to attend, The Hele Verden Collection.

"Hele Verden"-Danish for "All the World"
A perfect title for a collection by a Danish born Artist, creating one-of-a-kind jewelry designs with a variety of pendants, beads & trinkets from all around the World!

A limited edition, special line within this worldly collection will be pieces created from beads that come from the 34 Sisters in Africa. Proceeds from the sale of these items will return to the women in the African village, and also help fund a humanitarian mission for Christina and friends to travel to Uganda in January 2013 to work with women in the village of Bukibukolo.

Please Join us for this very special trunk show at Kelsey's Jewelry in Downtown Bemidji, Saturday Sept 15th from 10am to 3pm.

If you would like to know more or RSVP to the event, please visit the Bad Cat Creations Facebook page and/or the event page.

I think that's about it for now my kittens. I've got loads of new ideas, plans and creations in store for the future. I'm just getting back into the swing of blogging, so bare with me a little. As always, your support, comments and feedback are always appreciated. Until next time, be well and pet a kitty (or doggy!).
